Research Focus

Denise Polaczuk is interested in the role of religion in contemporary global poltics and the respective historical backgrounds.
In her previous qualification theses, she investigated current conspiracy ideologies and anti-religious or rather anti-islamic discourses in the German right-wing milieu, as well as their development out of secularisation processes since the Protestant Reformation.

Additionally, she examined Christian traditions in Europe during the 13th-16th century, frequently applying interdisciplinary approaches from the fields of Semiotics and of Queer and Gender Studies.
